Message from the President 1999
The Records Management Institute
(RMI) has been serving the records and information management community since
1952. The objectives of the RMI include providing leadership to the records and
information management profession and acting as a forum for networking with
colleagues with ideas and the dissemination of information.
The past few years have seen
rapid change in our business and in the midst of these changes the RMI
continues to strive to be a dynamic force and to further the principles and
practices of sound record keeping. Our skills and expertise are very much in
demand and our knowledge sought by all in the electronic work environment as
well as program officials.
For the upcoming year, the RMI
Executive is planning an exciting training schedule, fall seminar relevant
program topics, increased corporate membership and dynamic public relations,
and hopes to provide members with interesting opportunities and successful
ventures.
I would like to encourage each
and every one of you to become involved in participating on committees,
providing ideas on program topics, writing articles for distribution to other
members, sharing program notices(make it a goal to
bring someone to every meeting) and membership information with colleagues, and
generally promoting good information and records management practices in your
workplace as well as within your community.
Please contact me with comments,
questions and ideas. I look forward to meeting you and talking with you at our
monthly meetings.
Rhonda Healey
