Internet
World 2000 and ISPCON
Toronto,
Feb 7 – 10, 2000 - Toronto Convention Centre

Hall, Feb 2000
This could be you – given a project to
manage your organization’s Internet sites – and now you have to grow the beast
to a portal over the next few months. Now, I have a slight advantage. Have been
doing this for two years, broke it, fixed it, learned new things, got an
excellent team together. Modest to say the least comparing to the data farms
and corporate web sites in the world. Doing Internet Tier 1 stuff, information
publishing. Moving ahead towards Tier 2 Internet and Government on-line.
So we learn, individually and from each
other and the team has grown to a group of experts. We are creating strategies
and implementing changes in Web delivery. Off to the Internet World conference
to discover today’s reality in the wired world (use to have an entirely
different meaning) of business and commerce
Hurray! Four days of learning and
networking! Much information to absorb and competing lectures to select. Rich
offering of subjects. "All Internet. All Business. All week."
Each day offered six streams presented
as forums featuring three to six seminars or panels about a particular topical
area, such as:
Have
a look at http://events.internet.com/canada2000/conference.html.
Wow!
Hard to select what to attend! I stuck with the information content, portal
management, CRM and web design tracks. Learned lots! Some very dynamic and
knowledgeable speakers provided excellent tutorials about a particular aspect
of the Internet. Terrific information and valuable contacts! Also took a bit of
time to visit the exhibits to see some of the technology first hand.
Overwhelming amount of information (as usual). Useful site links follow.
